PM-3133i Series
Modbus RTU, Isolated 3-phase Smart Power Meter

When the inverter is running, it will generate some high frequency or low frequency noise, and interfere with the peripheral equipment by conduction or radiation. It is recommended that the CT and reference voltage of the meter be installed on the primary side of the “AC Filter” with an EMI ferrite core to minimize the interference effects of the inverter.

M-Bus (Meter-Bus) is a communication interface widely used for remote reading of meters such as: electricity meters, water meters, heat meters, etc. It is easy to install for its two-wire system already includes power and communication function. It also features the most important feature: robustness. M-Bus has its own physical layer and protocol. Therefore, it is usually required to be switched to other systems, such as Modbus, to facilitate the overall application. Modbus RTU is one of the most common communication standards in automation. ICP DAS developed the gateway GW-7828 for Modbus RTU to M-Bus, allows the direct transmission of meter data to a control system using Modbus RTU. The GW-7828 supports operating up to 100 meters on the M-Bus. The GW-7828 serves as a Modbus RTU slave gateway via RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485. After an initial configuration by M-Bus utility, GW-7828 will read out the meter data automatically. The PLC or PC as a Modbus RTU master can access meter data via a serial connection easily.
